Introducing Dr. Nicole Kretzer, MD PHD
Dr. Nicole Kretzer, MD PhD is a board-certified full spectrum gynecologist specializing in comprehensive gynecologic care. After completing her OB/GYN residency, she did three years of extra training in urogynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Because she has never practiced obstetrics, she has been able to devote her entire career to complex gynecologic care. This background gives her a broad knowledge base and the ability to handle a wide range of issues including fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, urinary symptoms, pelvic organ prolapse, and menopause. She also sees patients for routine gynecologic care including annual exams, pap smears, and contraception counseling.
Dr. Kretzer is highly skilled in in-office procedures, such as intrauterine device (IUD) placement, colposcopy, and endometrial biopsy. She is especially sensitive to ensuring patients are as comfortable as possible during procedures and has pioneered a comprehensive anesthesia regimen including numbing gel, injectable lidocaine, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), aroma therapy, and soothing music.
Dr. Kretzer is well-loved by patients and team members alike. She is a strong communicator, and loves taking the time to educate her patients about their bodies and treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care. Her research background and PhD in immunology make her uniquely suited to make sure her patients understand the science behind their diagnoses. She hopes to one day return to the lab to develop an endometriosis vaccine.
